Barnsley House – a Grade II listed gabled stone manor house built in 1697, was once home to the internationally-acclaimed garden designer Rosemary Verey. Now a luxury country hotel, there are 18 uniquely-designed bedrooms, from two-storey suites to a private garden retreat with an open fire.
The Potager restaurant serves fresh, local produce and vegetables picked from the kitchen garden. And the hotel’s very own Village Pub, just across the road, provides a wonderfully relaxed alternative.
The Garden Spa features five treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, relaxation room and lounge area – while outside there is a hydrotherapy pool and terrace, where guests can gaze out over the enchanting gardens and beautiful Cotswolds landscape.
“An excellent, well run course – very interesting and interactive.
The trainer was great – highly skilled and credible, he knew the restaurant sector inside out.
I took away some really good sales techniques to use with my team back in the restaurant at Barnsley House.
I’d recommend Tourism Growth’s ‘Selling Skills for Restaurants’ training course to other luxury hotels without hesitation.”

“We were very pleased to host Tourism Growth’s ‘Selling Skills for Restaurants’ training course at Barnsley House in April – and then ‘Getting More Sales from Your Website’ at Calcot in October.
And we’re looking forward to hosting another Tourism Growth course at Calcot in the New Year.
These courses are a great opportunity for Cotswolds tourism businesses – it’s not often that you get the chance to attend courses of such quality locally.
We’re delighted to partner with Tourism Growth and Cotswolds Tourism and to showcase these events.”
