Liverpool LEP

Liverpool City Region LEPFor some years now Tourism Growth has contracted with the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (and its predecessor The Mersey Partnership) to design and deliver a series of highly successful programmes of business support for the tourism sector.

In 2012-13 alone we worked with 60 tourism employers, targeting and supporting those in particular with plans for improving profits and growing their operations.

300 New Jobs created!

During this time 300 new jobs were created by these businesses, far exceeding the target set for us by the LEP – and the feedback from all those who took part and benefited was extremely positive.

“Tourism Growth’s quality assurance and administration systems are excellent – they’re the best around at generating the results and evidence we’ve needed.. to help us secure further funding”

Pam Wilsher – Head of Visitor Economy Development – LCR Local Enterprise Partnership – Sept 2014

Business Support

There have been three key features of our programmes in the Liverpool City Region :

  1. Business Coaching sessions, delivered on-site by a tourism sector specialist – tailored one-to-one support and advice with guided follow up.
  2. Training Workshops – a series of short, sharp, practical sessions, based on ‘bottom-line’ related topics and focused on increasing profits and funding business growth.
  3. Best Practice Visits to top performing and award-winning tourism businesses – very popular events which we’ve held in Liverpool, Southport and Wirral.

Business Coaching

In May 2014 we were commissioned by the Liverpool City Region LEP to deliver a new training and business support programme for the tourism sector – which is currently available to employers across the region.

Participating businesses can choose from our range of business coaching programmes and training courses – we can then tailor and run a bespoke programme for the client ‘in-house’ – and a grant is being offered by the LEP to meet 35% of the costs.

To be eligible for the grant, a business needs to be an ‘SME’ – a small or medium-sized operation employing less than 250 full-time staff.

Qualifying businesses may want to sign up for our 3-part ‘Profit Through Productivity‘ programme – our tried and tested formula of business coaching sessions, training workshops and ‘Best Practice Visits’ – which we’re running across the region as part of this initiative from January 2015.
